The ATA, or analog phone adapter as we call it, is a device used to connect a standard telephone to a network so that you can make calls over the Internet. Here are some of the benefits of VOIP phone through an ATA:

  1. Costs less than specialized VOIP phones
  2. Any phone can be used
  3. Cheaper or free long distance
  4. Feature packed
  5. Portable

911 services are provided on a “best effort” basis. Since Internet-based phone service is subject to outages that may not affect wired phone users, we ask that you fully understand that possibility. 911 service may not be available in the event of a power outage or network failure.

Since Yellowknife is a wireless internet service provider, or WISP, we are susceptible to various sources of interference. One of those sources could be your wireless phone and for that reason we suggest you use DECT 6.0 phones.
