  • What is an ATA?

The ATA, or phone adapter as we call it, is a device used to connect a standard telephone to a network so that you can make calls over the Internet. Here are some of the benefits of VOIP phone through an ATA:

    1. Costs less over specialized VOIP phones
    2. Any phone can be used
    3. Cheaper or free long distance
    4. Feature packed
    5. Portable
  • How does 911 work?

911 services are provided on a “best effort” basis. Since Internet based phone service is subject to outages that may not affect wired phone users, we ask that you fully understand that possibility. 911 service may not be available in the event of a power outage or network failure.

  • What phone is recommended?

Since Yellowknife is a wireless internet service provider, or WISP, we are susceptible to various sources of interference. One of those sources could be your wireless phone and for that reason we suggest you use DECT 6.0 phones.

  • Voicemail Instructions

From Yellowknife phone: Dial *98, from the phone that is on the Yellowknife service, to access voicemail. Enter your password when prompted. If you forgot or lost your pin number (password) you will need to contact Yellowknife technical support.

From outside line: Dial (541)323-6200 to access voicemail. Enter your full 10 digit phone number and password when prompted.
